Black Veil Chapter-4

Scott stared at the huge figure, bearing a surprised expression on his face. Mastermind’s grey cells were stressing to carve out an escape route. His experienced eye started surveying the room meticulously while talking to Arthur.

“I am really not aware of what you are talking about! Though I heard of this relic being excavated in Ruins of Wafthel. And my knowledge of civilizations failed when you mentioned the Cleyomandarin one, coz I have never heard of anything like it”, said Scott searching the vicinities.

“You think that I am a fool? The Relic was found in Orkney Islands, when you were in the charge. Professor Jack Hastings happened to be there, wasn’t he? We managed to get some pictures of the Relic but we were not able to decipher the Pertadenian script, that’s what you call it, isn’t it Scott??”

“While you came in contact with Hastings, the mysteries and practices of civilization started fascinating you. Unfortunately, we all are marred by same fascination Scott! Tell me what do you know of Secret of Black Veil and how can it be surpassed?”

Scott who was hunting for a rescue route jumped over to the Room Fragrance Can nearby, got hold of it. He pounced on Arthur and atomized the liquid at a sharp angle. The inflammable spray came in contact with the lighting Cigar and Arthur’s cloth was on fire, he dropped the gun in a surge of panic. A perfect jump and followed by a square kick drenched the black cloak with Bocksbeutel. The man was on fire already. Scott’s military trained body cracked several kicks on the burning figure. And soon the guy was cornered.

“Now I have some questions to ask! Tell me whom are you currently working for? You were a freelance contract assassin when we met previously. How do you know of all this and what is your plan? Don’t make me go ugly!! Come on spit it now.”

Scott held him by the collar and banged him against the cupboard followed by a knee hit. Arthur spit blood on the floor and started coughing it badly.

“Wait! Wait! Am telling you. I have been working for ………. Ste….in…..ad…..lers…” his body started shriveling resembling likes of a shock treatment and then it fall flat on the floor. Scott checked the pulse, and found him dead.

“Duh! A nerve disruptor. But it can only be operated accurately when the remote is in 15 km range from the receiver. I should quickly leave London, my work here is already finished. Its too early to get in any such mess”

The rains outside had stopped by now, and there was a slight fog in the woods. Secrets of time were swallowed by the darkness of night.
