Agar ye "mera" "humaara" hota to kitna acha hota!

This has been my experience lately... donno whether its correct or not ... that Parents have started to publicize their children excessively... there were time when an exceptional kid from a joint family used to gain appreciation from each nd all and even from the society... colony people etc... but over times the trends have changed I guess.... these days people are more like into " Main aur mere bache" ... I remember a close relative of mine sayin to me that " Mere bacho ne bhi MBA kiya hai... and distance learning se course karna to aur bhi mushkil hota hai... par bhai aajkal to valuee uski hai jo kamaata hai..." Now howz that... well I can cite the context... the sentence was targeted on two successful business ladies who are among their close relatives... How does that fit in?? This surprises me sometime... As per my view she shud have taken pride in the success of her two niece but then she was more jealous and dissatisfied... Sometime I really fail to understand the crux... Every parent is just ready to tell me that his/her child is studyin in a college in mumbai which is next to IIT Bombay or a top college in Pune or Bangalore.... and blv me that all kids are toppers these days... as my dad aptly said laughing " Colleges have eradicated the grade system ... so if there are twenty boys in class everyone is a topper... coz thts wat I hear from every colleague of mine.."... So my dad never mention my name... when somebody ask he just says ..." He is studyin in IT-BHU... final year chemical engg.."... nd how many people know IT-BHU... thus it save my ass from being a part of the hypo critic targets... Now there was a small talk... I was at the house of a very close relative of mine and "She".. some elderely lady... was doin only one thing... praisin his son... daughters... son in law... etc... That time I really came to know about their complete family tree (lol)... newayz... so even at their home... my dad asked me to get up and prepare tea for us... (I was really tired after a journey of aroun 24 hrs)... So I kinda showed reluctance for the same... She ranted immediately ... " Humaara "N" ko to bada mazaa aata hai in cheezon mein... wo to jath uth jaata aur chai banaata... aur wo sach mein badi achi chai banaata hai"... lol... nd that was a point of laugh riot for the next 15 days for which I stayed at my home... I mean cmmon gimme a break... "Arre isme bhi barabari"... Oh God! can't I be spared from all this nonsense... nd these society parties na... Arre yaar JEE nikaal ke paap kar diya kya... everytime u go there... khoob saari junta will be askin a lotsa question ( well I already narrated a typical Marriage party )... but as neeraj said...there is alwayz some relative IITian who has got a better rank than me... "Acha hai bhai... khoob khoob badhai..."....to ab main kya karoon... I don't give a f*** as to what he has done or not... or wat my immediate relative is doin... Wish we had that old culture in which kids of one are kids of all... where there was nothin like "Mera beta aur beti"...but somethin like "humaare bache"... Slowly and slowly people are growing more nd more self centered and this whole culture of togetherness is goin out of picture...
